Jalen Green is only the sixth guard to reach this record in NBA history

Filipino-American NBA player Jalen Green had an incredible Monday night this week.

Although the Houston Rockets had been on a six-game losing streak, the team finally found life in their game against Orlando yesterday (Manila time). And it was Green who led the charge, scoring 34 points to help the Rockets win, 134-127.

This game, thus, marks his 10th game in the NBA where he has scored at least 30 points, making him the sixth guard in NBA history to reach at least 30 points ten times or more before turning 21.

Among this generation’s greats

The Fil-Am guard was drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2021 and was the second overall draft. What was most impressive about Jalen Green was his ability to score—which he has proven.

Although the Rockets are currently 15th in the Western Conference with only two wins, Green’s stat line still impresses, with an average of 20.8 points per game. Additionally, he scored over 20 points in his last three games for Houston.

Now, as only one among six guards in the NBA who have scored 10 or more 30-point games before turning 21, Green joins elite company. The only five NBA players who have achieved this same feat before are Luka Dončić, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, and Kyrie Irving.

Not bad company to be in at all.

And, as it is only his second season in the NBA, we can definitely expect to see more from the Filipino-American rising star.
