Mobile Legends and Xiaomi are working together to push back the negative stigma of gaming.
There’s more to gaming than just play as shown by Mobile Legends and Xiaomi with the launch of the MLBB Community Cup. This is a campus tour that aims to promote healthy gaming and camaraderie among students through Mobile Legends.
During the campus tour, Mobile Legends developer Moonton Games held talks about healthy gaming and career opportunities in gaming. There were also interactive activities as well as friendly Mobile Legends tournaments happening throughout the day. Their first stop was at the National University, Laguna, on February 1-2 and then the Technological Institute of the Philippines, Quezon City, on February 5-6.
Moonton Games Philippines Human Resource Head Stephen Mabasa was the speaker for the TIP leg of the tour. Titling his talk Puro Ka Laro, Stephen aimed to tackle the most common negative perceptions parents may have against gaming. The crux of his speech was that gaming is not the dead end that parents fear it may be. Rather, it’s a multi-million dollar industry that is ripe with opportunities for different professional fields.
The final day of the event concluded with a tournament to determine the last team to make it to the Community Cup Finals on February 8. Powered by Xiaomi and organized by TIP’s very own Tempest Gaming Society, the day was filled with exciting Mobile Legends action that saw Kahit Ano Na Lang Pre moving on to the Finals.
“We recognize our shared responsibility in fostering a fun and healthy environment for our MLBB gamers. With the MLBB Community Cup, we hope our participants further develop their skills in teamwork, problem solving, and network building, among others,” says Miah Kang, Moonton Games Philippines Community Manager.
