The WWE Night of Champions card will have first-time matches and rivalries that have been building for months.

Another PLE is on the way as the road to WWE Night of Champions begins with the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. Championship feuds are clearly brewing on both brands, while several future title contenders continue to gain momentum courtesy of the ongoing tournaments. It has been a tremendous week for pro wrestling and this upcoming event will make things even more interesting.

The brackets for both tournaments are filled with stars who are on the rise together with former world champions. Here are the brackets for the ongoing tournament:

And here is our predicted match card for WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh:

Charlotte Flair vs Iyo Sky – Queen of the Ring Finals

WWE Night of Champions: Iyo Sky
Iyo Sky moves on to the next round of the tournament.

The semifinal matchups could feature Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch on one side of the bracket and Raquel Rodriguez vs. Iyo Sky on the other.

Both sides of the bracket are stacked, as the likes of Sol Ruca, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and Jade Cargill could all be eliminated in the first round. This would set up semifinal matches where Charlotte Flair and Iyo Sky emerge as the favorites. WWE has been teasing a third chapter in the Flair and Rhea Ripley rivalry after their WrestleMania 36 and WrestleMania 39 encounters, with a potential SummerSlam match looming.

Meanwhile, Iyo Sky continues to establish herself as one of Monday Night Raw’s top contenders, especially after stepping out of Rhea Ripley’s storylines.

Seth Rollins vs Oba Femi – King of the Ring Finals

WWE Night of Champions: Oba Femi
Oba Femi dominates the four-way match to move on the next round of the tournament.

It doesn’t feel ideal to run another Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker match on a PLE while Oba Femi is waiting in the wings. Breakker could meet Femi in the semifinals, and after The Ruler’s dominant performance in the first round, WWE should capitalize on his momentum.

Femi also needs to reestablish his dominance following his loss to Brock Lesnar at Clash in Italy. This sets the stage for a compelling Seth Rollins vs. Oba Femi final.

On Rollins’ side of the bracket, no one appears to be involved in a bigger storyline than him, even with stars such as Jey Uso and LA Knight in the tournament. While Femi still has unfinished business with Lesnar, it may be better to revisit that rivalry when Femi eventually wins a world title, allowing him to score a meaningful victory over The Beast by retaining his title.

Penta vs Rey Mysterio – Intercontinental Championship

WWE Night of Champions: Penta
Penta has been the Intercontinental Champion for more than 3 months.

Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has already challenged Penta for an Intercontinental Championship match on Raw. Penta has been a fighting champion ever since his reign began, successfully defending the title against the likes of Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, and Rusev.

The reign has consistently delivered standout matches, and another could be on the way if two generations of lucha libre stars finally collide inside a WWE ring.

Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes – United States Championship

WWE Night of Champions: Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo Hayes will look to regain the United States Championship.

Trick Williams’ United States Championship reign has gotten off to a slow start. His feud with Sami Zayn appears to be over, but he currently lacks a clear challenger.

Enter Carmelo Hayes once again.

After being left out of the WrestleMania match involving Williams and Zayn, Hayes should be next in line for a singles feud with his former NXT ally turned rival. The rivalry has been building for weeks, and the United States Championship desperately needs a showcase match on a PLE rather than being limited to weekly television.

Gunther vs Sami Zayn vs Cody Rhodes – WWE Championship

WWE Night of Champions: Cody Rhodes vs Gunther
Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Title over Gunther in a controversial fashion.

The Clash in Italy match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther ended in controversial fashion, as Gunther’s foot appeared to be underneath the bottom rope during the decisive count. Though, it wasn’t Rhodes’ fault, The Ring General won’t let the accident slide and will look for another match.

On SmackDown, Sami Zayn has clearly made his choice and he is no longer willing to help Cody Rhodes. With Night of Champions taking place in Riyadh, Zayn is almost certain to have a prominent role on the card.

Neither feud has received a proper conclusion, making a triple-threat match a logical direction for the next event. Rhodes will most likely retain his title if it’s a singles match, but a three-way match is a different story. One of the challengers can steal a win and end The American Nightmare’s reign.
