Even at Tekken’s rockiest season, South Korea finds a way to stay on top.
Tekken 8’s most tumultuous season concludes with the crowning of an appropriately named victor as Yoon “LowHigh” Sun-woong is the TWT 2025 champion. With a double 3-0 sweep at the grand finals, he re-secured South Korea’s throne of Tekken dominance.

LowHigh is a familiar name for older Tekken fans as his career started in the early days of Tekken 7. He’s had a few standout performances in the past, particularly becoming the Tekken 7 champion of Evo 2018 and taking REV Major 2019 afterwards. However, since then he’s mostly dropped out of the limelight with no notable victories. While Lowhigh has remained competitive, he hasn’t seen the same level of success compared to other South Korean legends such as Lee “Ulsan” Soo-hoon and Bae “Knee” Jae-min.
But there was something different about him this time in the Tekken World Tour Finals 2025. LowHigh was peaking at the right moment with his 3-0 sweep of the Group Stage and flawless run up until the upper bracket semifinals. He met his match against Park “Mangja” Geon-ho, falling into the shark infested waters of the lower bracket.
Undeterred, LowHigh continued to play like a man possessed. He had multiple close calls but he persevered against darkhorse Choi “Breadman” Min-woo and Muhammad Farzeen to face the last bastion of Pakistan, Atif Ijaz.

It was clear that momentum was completely at LowHigh’s side as he played without fear even when he was behind. With Atif out of the way, it seemed like nothing could stop him from becoming the TWT 2025 champion. And that held true as not even Mangja could slow LowHigh down despite besting him in the upper bracket semifinals.
With a completely dominant double 3-0 sweep, LowHigh is quiet no more. His six years of silence is broken in the most spectacular way as he crowns himself the TWT 2025 champion.
