Granted, they’re all character reveals but cool characters are what makes fighting games great.

Evo is one of the best places to drop some fighting game announcements and there were some big ones in Evo 2026. Not only do we have a number of new fighting games waiting over the horizon, we’ve also got some fan-favorite characters coming in as well.

The Bakunawa Killer – Virtua Fighter Crossroads

He was only hinted at before on the Virtua Fighter Crossroads webpage but now we get our first look at the Bakunawa Killer. Disappointment that he’s not a Filipino fighter aside, he strikes quite an imposing figure. His upright posture and menacing mask gives him an air of superiority – all the hallmarks of a main adversary.

The trailer also hints that the Bakunawa Killer might be another returning VF character. Seeing as Crossroads is the perfect opportunity to really expand on the world of VF, it’s going to be interesting to see where they’ll take this mysterious fighter.

Lux and Samira – 2XKO

Capping off their mainstage debut at Evo 2026, Riot Games just casually announced the last two characters of their first year of DLC. The Lady of Luminosity and The Desert Rose are dropping later this year and fans are hyped.

Samira has been consistently one of the most frequently requested champs for 2XKO. She’s got guns, a big sword, and a devil-may-care attitude – everything you need for the perfect fighting game character. Lux plays more like a traditional spellslinging mage, however. There’s already gripes that there’s too much zoning in 2XKO so we’ll have to wait and see how Riot adapts one of their most popular mages in this tag-team fighter.

Bob – Tekken 8

Bob, the big, bombastic brawler, is arriving to Tekken 8 on August 19 and he’s already looking like a menace. Many fans still remember the days when he was the de facto top one fighter in Tekken, but none can deny that he’s still one of Tekken’s most iconic characters. There’s worries that he’ll be a top-tier menace once again but Tekken’s not complete without Bob in it.

Also, the teaser at the end has gotten fans even more excited for the return of Roger Jr. He’s a beloved character that’s finally coming back after so many years, and the devs seem to know exactly how to treat the character. We can’t wait to see more at Evo France later this year.

The Samurai Outriders – Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

If there was one thing everyone was waiting to see in Evo 2026, it was the reveal of Marvel Tokon’s final set of characters. As Ghost Rider is the leader of this team, many fans were expecting some variation of the Midnight Sons. Well, they’re only half correct.

True to form, Marvel Tokon has subverted expectations with the Samurai Outriders. Joining Ghost Rider is Blade, vampire hunter and Midnight Sons mainstay. Joining them is Loki, everyone’s favorite trickster god, and the ultimate wildcard, Deadpool. It’s a team that’s as bizarre as it’s hype, and its made us even more excited for the open beta happening later this July.

Riot Games confirmed Lux and Samira as the final two characters in 2XKO’s first year of DLC during their Evo 2026 mainstage appearance. Samira brings guns and melee aggression, while Lux plays as a traditional spellslinging mage within the tag-team fighter.

Bob, one of Tekken’s most recognizable brawlers, joins Tekken 8 on August 19. The character was once considered a top-tier threat in earlier Tekken titles, and the reveal trailer also teased the eventual return of Roger Jr.

The Samurai Outriders are Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ final revealed roster addition, led by Ghost Rider alongside Blade, Loki, and Deadpool. The lineup diverges from fan expectations of a full Midnight Sons team, mixing in Loki and Deadpool as wildcard picks.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ open beta is scheduled for later in July 2026, following the Evo 2026 reveal of the Samurai Outriders — the game’s final character team confirmed ahead of the beta period.
