He’s here to remind everyone why Malaysia, and specifically HomeBois, are the favorites to become KIC champions.
It’s been a dominant showing from HomeBois BSE’s MusangKing and crew this KIC 2025, which is no surprise as they’re the defending champions. Besides that, they’ve been the top Malaysian team since their formation. No small feat considering the team’s only two years old.
Star Jungler Chan “MusangKing” Tan has been with HomeBois BSE since the beginning and has showcased Malaysia’s HoK dominance in all kinds of international arenas. He’s traveled a lot considering HoK’s esports young global presence and has been impressed at how things have been handled.
“I haven’t had any difficulties playing in different countries,” said HomeBois BSE’s MusangKing. “Every country we’ve visited are all very good and professional when it comes to holding an esports tournament. It made things very easy for our team.”

That makes HomeBois’ monumental crash in Esports World Cup 2025 even more surprising. Many expected them to make it to the playoffs but they didn’t even make it out of the group stage, with Italy’s Twisted Minds dealing the fatal blow.
“It came down to our mentality and how we were responding to the situation,” explained HomeBois BSE’s MusangKing. “There were moments where we would get too excited or frustrated, leading us into difficult situations. This allowed our opponents to counter us, mostly because we would get ahead of ourselves.”
The Real Threats
After that, MusangKing said that the team had lengthy discussions among themselves when they got back home. Ultimately, they knew they only had themselves to blame and that they needed to improve themselves if they wanted to remain the top team in Malaysia.
Fast forward to today and HomeBois have a Malaysia HoK League trophy after defeating rivals and previous champions Nova Esports. They’ve entered KIC 2025 as defending champions and have a chance to cement their dominance, and maybe even get some revenge as Twisted Minds is in the tournament as well. However, the latter doesn’t seem to be a concern to MusangKing.
“To me, it’s only the Malaysian teams that’s worth paying attention to.”
This was said ahead of HomeBois’ epic clash with Blacklist International in the upper bracket semifinals. Considering that the Filipino first seed pushed HomeBois to seven games, it might be worth it to split that attention.
But regardless, HomeBois are on track to defend their KIC championship. It’s up to the rest of the teams if they can put up a worthy challenge.
