The kings of the LCK prove once again why they deserve that title.

The Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver roars to life as Gen.G Esports took down reigning world champions T1 to become the 2025 MSI Champions. The two League of Legends titans went the full distance, with their clash going beyond a simple 3-2 scoreline.

Despite being the 2024 world champions, T1 has been struggling all season long in the LCK. While they did finish third in the regular season, many were not even confident in their ability to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational. Instability within their roster had debilitating effects on T1’s performance, causing the world champions to struggle against weaker teams.

But they came together when they needed to the most, beating out 2025 First Stand champions Hanwha Life Esports to qualify for MSI.

Meanwhile, Gen.G is by far the best team to have come out of the LCK. The team has looked absolutely unstoppable after replacing their Bot Lane and Support duo. While they stumbled early in the year, they emerged from the LCK with a perfect match record, solidifying their position as the clear front-runners to become the 2025 MSI champions.

As MSI played out, Gen.G lived up to everyone’s expectations while T1 reminded the whole world why they should never be underestimated. Despite close calls with China’s first seed, Anyone’s Legend, Gen.G, and T1 were fated to face each other. First in the upper bracket finals and once again in the grand finals.

Gen.G and T1 pushed each other to the limit in both their encounters. T1 always shows up for international events, but unfortunately, their plot armor wasn’t enough. They were long and bloody matches, but Gen.G would triumph over T1 both times, 3-2.

With an impressive 23-match win streak, Gen.G defended their title and walked away as the 2025 MSI champions.
