Amidst all this talk of legacies and GOAT’s, the Falcons captain is only concerned with making his team the best it can be.
It’s going to be a critical season for Team Falcons’ Pheww and crew as the third-best team in the MPL is gunning for a spot in the world championship. The M5 champions are hungry to be back on the international stage, and they’re locking in hard to do it.
Team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s role is going to be pivotal in guiding his team to victory. As one of the longest active players in the league, Pheww’s experience has awarded him many achievements and respect among his peers. His name is right up there with Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno for MPL GOAT. But of course, KarlTzy is the one everyone’s talking about right now, thanks to his and Team Liquid’s successful MSC 2025 run.
“Feel ko na deserve talaga ni Karl yung lahat ng sinasabi about sa kanya,” said Team Falcons’ Pheww. “Kasi sobrang tagal na rin nya tapos siya rin yung recent na champion. Everytime nakakapunta siya sa international nagiging contender talaga siya.”
Despite both of them being in the league for about the same length of time, it’s KarlTzy who’s frequently being referred to as the icon of MLBB. Of course, Pheww has no hard feelings over this. They were on the same team that won the Philippines their first M-series world championship, so he knows just how hard KarlTzy works to be the best MLBB player in the world. And ultimately, he and KarlTzy have differing goals.
“Hindi naman yung goal ko ay maging best player,” said Team Falcons’ Pheww. “Ang goal ko is maging best team kami.”
Keeping Consistent
Team Falcons has come painfully close to reaching that goal quite a few times already. They’ve been missing that next step to truly overtake the top teams in the MPL and Pheww knows exactly what they were lacking.
“Consistency. Hindi yung one time lang sobrang lakas tapos nagiging watak-watak na lang. Para sa akin, ang pinaka-importante para sa best team ay kahit matagal na kayong kasama consistent pa rin kayo sa local at international tournaments.”
“Kailangan bumalik yung gigil namin sa paglalaaro,” continued Team Falcons’ Pheww. “Nung hindi kami naka-qualify sa M6, parang ok lang sa amin yun. Ganun naging yung mindset namin kasi madami na rin yung panalo namin tapos may susunod na tournaments naman. Feeling ko naging downfall din namin yun kaya ngayon gustong-gusto namin bumalik sa international.”
