It’s a whole new level for the Philippines’ longest running esports league.
When MPL PH Season 17 begins this March 20, it will be a defining moment for both Mobile Legends and Philippine esports.
Under the battle cry of “Palag Na ‘To!“, Season 17 reflects the fearless, competitive spirit deeply rooted in Filipino gaming culture. The word palag embodies confidence, resilience, and the readiness to face any opponent regardless of the odds.
It’s an appropriate phrase as for the first time ever, MPL PH Season 17 welcomes its first international player imports. Hailing from Indonesia, Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto and Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad step into the toughest MLBB league in the world. Their arrival reflects the league’s growing international pull and positions MPL PH as a regional hub where global talent converges, further elevating the Philippines’ role as a standard-setter in the worldwide MLBB esports ecosystem.
They’ll also be playing in a whole new arena as MPL PH Season 17 moves to Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City. The new venue marks a significant upgrade for MPL PH’s live competition environment and fan experience, reflecting the continued growth and professionalization of MLBB esports in the Philippines — being a larger, purpose-built venue that can accommodate larger audiences and more immersive esports entertainment.

A Season Powered by Partnerships and Fans
MPL PH welcomes Fairrie, a jewelry and watch brand dedicated to gaming and esports best known for crafting the M6 World Championship rings. Their M6 collaboration earned them Gold and Silver at The Drum Awards and Gold at the Marketing Events Awards. This partnership marks a milestone for the league, as this is the first time they have collaboratedfwith an international jewelry brand.
Elevating the onsite fan experience, the league is also bringing back the MPL Playground. As always, it will be an immersive fan zone featuring interactive activities by MPL PH’s brand partners. It will host community-driven events such as Infinix FANSIKLABAN, a tournament that gives fans the chance to represent their favorite teams in a competitive onsite showdown.
“MLBB has always belonged to the Filipino community,” said Lee Viloria, MOONTON Games’ PH Esports Business Development and Partnerships Head. “For the past 10 years, the passion of our players and fans has turned the Philippines into one of the strongest MLBB regions in the world. Season 17 is our way of honoring that journey.”
Now in its fourth season, the Smart Battle Trips program continues to provide students and young fans with opportunities to learn more about esports, gaming, and the operations involved in staging a professional tournament. Industry speakers will also conduct seminars covering topics such as esports broadcasting, journalism, event management, and content creation, offering participants valuable insights into the growing esports ecosystem.

“From our Opening Ceremony to welcoming international talent and moving into a new home for the league – it’s a moment that celebrates our history, but more importantly, shows how much bigger the future of MPL Philippines can be. This season, we’re excited to see our teams push their boundaries, embodying the spirit of Palag Na ‘To. With the unwavering support of our partners and stakeholders, we aim to bring fans an even bigger and more thrilling esports experience that truly goes beyond the limits.”
