The Selangor Red Giants only continue to impress thanks to the hard work of the coach and the players.
While other top teams struggle, SRG’s coach Arcadia and crew are riding high as they finished the Swiss Stage with a clean 3-0 match record. It took a lot of work, especially since they had to beat the Philippines’ Team Liquid to get there, but coach Michael “Arcadia” Bocado is more than happy with the results.
“Para sa akin, sobrang contento ako sa run namin ngayon sa Swiss Stage,” said SRG’s coach Arcadia. “Kasi sobrang iba yung run namin sa M6. 3-2 yon so we’re very thankful na 3-0 yung standing namin ngayon.”
The Giants were certainly challenged a great deal in 2024 – mostly due to other teams paying close attention to them. A spotlight was placed on them after they won MSC 2024 and once the top teams took notice, it was up to them to adjust.
“Ito talaga yung target namin going into M7. Last M6 andami naming realizations, natutunan, and we had to make sure na napagusapan namin yon as a team para hindi na namin ulitin going into M7.”

“For now, masaya kami na nakalampas na kami sa Swiss Stage and masaya kami na nakabawi kami sa Team Liquid” continued SRG’s coach Arcadia. “Pero syempre, hindi pa tapos yung goal namin this M7 which is to achieve the M-Series title. Content na kami sa Swiss Stage, pero nakatingin pa rin kami sa future and yung kailangan namin gawin para makuha yung trophy.”
All Together Towards Success
Coach Arcadia has been coaching SRG for a little over two years but he’s done so much in that time. He’s turned a high-profile yet middle of the pack Malaysian team into the undisputed best MLBB team in the region. He led the team and the region to their first ever Major tournament victory in MSC 2024 and he didn’t stop there.
With two IESF World Esports Championship golds and a SEA Games silver, coach Arcadia has been able to craft a culture of success with the Malaysian teams he’s handled. But he knows that it takes more than a good coach to make a championship caliber team.

“It’s a mixture of mentality first and putting in a lot of hard work,” said SRG’s coach Arcadia. “Kasi lahat ng achievements na ito, na-achieve namin together. Hindi madali ito, and hindi naman ako lang yung instrumento para ma-achieve ito. Lahat kami nagtutulungan, lahat kami nagbibigay ng effort para makuha namin ang gusto namin makuha. Isa rin ang mahirap sa esports is maging consistent and I’m happy na nagagawa namin yon as a team.”
It certainly looks like SRG are benefiting from all their hard work right now in M7. Maybe that’ll be enough to take them all the way to the championship.
