Team Liquid proved once again that they’re an unstoppable force of nature in Mobile Legends as they took home the MPL PH Season 17 crown. History was made as they clipped Team Falcons’ wings, 4-2, to become the league’s first ever three-peat champions.
The three-peat is an achievement that’s eluded many teams in the MPL PH. Sunsparks were the first team to go back-to-back in Seasons 4 and 5. However the team was taken over by Aura PH and had an early playoff exit in Season 6. Blacklist International had their shot after becoming champions in Seasons 7 and 8, but the team had their major collapse in Season 9 which prevented them from even making the playoffs.
Accompanying this milestone for Team Liquid are several other records broken by their players. Jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Roamer Jaypee Dela Cruz accompany the three-peat by breaking their own record of most MPL PH championships. They’ve now reached six titles, with EXP Laner Sanford Vinuya and Mid Laner Aston “Sanji” Pabico following closely with five.
Speaking of Sanford, the Apex Predator has now won his third MPL PH Finals MVP award. This makes him the first player to win three MVP awards and solidly puts him in the conversation as the GOAT of the EXP Lane.
Special shout out also goes to Gold Laner Dave “Teddyqt” Viaña. His performance in the regular season and the playoffs has proved that he wasn’t just a rookie being carried by the veterans.
It just goes to show that Team Liquid aren’t the MPL PH Season 17 champions because of one player. They’re an entire team filled with championship-level talent and we can’t wait to see them on the MSC 2026 stage in Paris later this July.
