The W Gaming train truly has no breaks.

All questions of who the best VALORANT team in Asia is have been answered, as Paper Rex crowned themselves the VCT 2025 Pacific Champions. They put away contenders RRQ with a solid 3-1 grand finals victory at the LaLa Arena Tokyo Bay, Japan.

The Singapore-based squad have been running hot ever since their surge towards the end of VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1. There, they were only able to finish in third place, but they were able to ride that momentum to eventually take Masters Toronto — their first international trophy.

Empowered by that success, Paper Rex would tear apart the regular season of VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 2. Outside of their one 0-2 loss against Japan’s ZETA Division, nothing could overcome Paper Rex as they would 2-0 the rest of their group. That momentum would carry over into the playoffs as they would convincingly sweep South Korea’s T1 and Hong Kong’s TALON.

Meanwhile, RRQ was knocked down into the lower bracket by T1 at the start of the playoffs. But the Stage 1 champs are made of sturdy stuff, and they fought hard to meet Paper Rex in the grand finals.

Unfortunately, not even the King of Kings could stand up against the Paper Rex freight train. The purple and pink dinosaurs earned the title of VCT 2025 Pacific champions, dropping only three games this season.

Southeast Asia’s Finest

With this victory, Paper Rex now has three VCT Pacific championships in their trophy case – one from each year since the VCT Pacific was established.

This also shows that Paper Rex’s eclectic mix of players is really working wonders. They’ve been able to overcome any language barriers or synergy pitfalls that other mixed teams have. Paper Rex plays aggressively and confidently, but it’s backed by coordination that can rival other teams with players from the same country speaking the same language.

Filipino player Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza also continues to impress in his rookie year. His inclusion has really rounded out the Paper Rex, giving the squad some much-needed stability when things get a little too wild.

With Paper Rex clearly showing the prowess as the VCT 2025 Pacific champions, everyone’s excited to see how far they’ll go in Champions Paris later this month.
