The Memphis Grizzlies star is looking forward to learning more about Asian Hoops on his upcoming tour.

For Ja Morant, basketball is more than just a sport. As an NBA star, he knows that the sport transcends the court — it’s also about style, culture, and community. And although he is already immersed in hoops culture 24/7, he is excited to travel the world and find out more about the global basketball community when he embarks on the Make Them Watch Tour!

In collaboration with Nike, the Make Them Watch Tour is an international journey that will take the Memphis Grizzlies star to four different countries: the United States, China, Japan, and the Philippines. Manila is set to be his final stop on the tour, and we already know the passion of the local fans and players will surely cap off his tour with a bang.

While on this tour, Ja Morant will be hosting and participating in various activations across the four countries to immerse himself in the local basketball communities. But beyond this, the Memphis point guard is also excited to inspire more hoopers around the world to use the game as a method of self-expression.

Morant himself has become known for his fiery, electric playing style on the court — it’s the unique way he expresses his hard work as a player. But beyond this, he also brings his creativity to basketball culture: in his signature Nike shoes and in his vibrant off-court outfits.

“Basketball is all about work and creativity — putting in that grind but also playing with your own style,” Ja shared in a press release. “I’m excited to pull up and share a piece of my journey with the next generation of hoopers around the world, and I also want to check how basketball is played in their own communities. Getting to learn new cultures through hoops is a unique opportunity, and I’m hyped about that.”

Inspired by this mindset, Ja Morant’s Make Them Watch Tour will be a way to give back to the game of basketball by motivating more youngsters in the sport and connecting the communities of each country.

Ja is all set to kick off the tour in Georgia with Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League, and from there, he will be traveling to New York, China, Japan, and finally, Manila.

While on his Manila leg, Ja promises to craft unique experiences for Filipino athletes. Some lucky local high school players will be invited to attend an exclusive training session with Ja Morant himself, and he will also be hosting a Make Them Watch exhibition game, where he will really get the chance to see what Filipino basketball talent is all about.
