A lot of bombshells were announced but these are the ones that stand out.

Sony just concluded their February 2026 State of Play and it was a feature length presentation of some of the most anticipated games of this year and beyond.

All in all, there were 30 games presented with some announcements for other projects and titles sprinkled in. That’s a lot but we’ve zoomed in on the five most exciting games which should be on everybody’s radar.

Resident Evil Requiem

Luckily, the first entry on this list isn’t even all that far away! As the latest instalment in Capcom’s OG horror franchise, fans have been eagerly awaiting what seems to be the concluding chapter to Leon Kennedy’s story.

That may sound grim but all signs seem to point that this is Leon’s last rodeo. The State of Play trailer added even more fuel to the fire by confirming that he’s suffering some kind of strange illness. Will he survive his latest mission? We’ll find out once the game drops on February 27.

Silent Hill: Townfall

Keeping up with the horror themes, Konami is throwing their hat in the ring again with Silent Hill: Townfall. Picking up on the momentum and success of Silent Hill, it looks like they’re sticking with their current reimagining of the franchise. This time we’re all the way in Europe, on the sleepy and isolated island of St. Amelia.

It’s got that familiar unsettling vibe of mystery and creepiness, plus a healthy dose of messed up monsters to boot. We like what we’re seeing so far and hope that this entry to the legendary franchise sticks the landing. It’s releasing sometime this year so we eagerly await more information.

007 First Light

Can you believe that it’s been 14 years since the last James Bond game? Granted, his last few games weren’t well received but there was a time when 007 wasn’t just a household name in movies but in games as well. With what the State of Play showed with First Light, this might just be the second wind the series needs.

Fans have been saying that the gameplay looks like a blend of Uncharted along with Hitman. An odd blend but both styles are not out of the wheelhouse for Mr. Bond. Together with an original story not tied to any movies or books, First Light could capture both old and new audiences in a big way. Agent 007 is arriving on March 27.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

After years of being dormant, Marvel is flying back into the fighting game scene with industry giants Arc System Works. And not only do we finally get a date for the game, we get some big roster reveals to boot!

Leading with the newly formed Unbreakable X-Men, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is looking to bring their own spin to tag-fighters with 4v4 teams that features some familiar and surprising heroes and villains from the Marvel universe. Personally, we’re excited to see who’s making it into that 20 character roster and we’ll likely find out more as we approach August 6.

God of War Trilogy Remake

This is the announcement that probably made every old Playstation fans’ day. The God of War series has always been a pillar among Sony’s Playstation franchises. While players can still enjoy the 2018 reboot and onwards, the original trilogy is still locked behind the consoles they were released on.

Instead of just releasing those old games into a bundle for modern hardware, Sony is going the extra mile going for a full remake. That’s ambitious, considering those are three content rich games that they’re rebuilding seemingly from the ground up. The only thing the State of Play could tell us is that it’s in development but you can be sure that we’re eagerly awaiting the day when we can replay the God of War trilogy again with a fresh new look.
