Sports teams and fashion brands continue to bridge the gap between two cultures through collaborations that celebrate the history, identity, and culture of teams and their cities.

Sports and fashion have long gone hand in hand. Many of today’s biggest streetwear labels are deeply connected to the cities and communities where they were built. Likewise, sports teams often represent more than wins and losses; they also embody identity and heritage.

As both worlds evolved, the connection only grew stronger. Teams and athletes now influence trends far beyond the game. In the same way, fashion brands continue to tap into the energy and loyalty that sports communities bring.

That shared foundation, collaborations between teams and fashion brands continue to feel natural. Today, we look back at some of the best modern sports team and fashion brand collaborations that stood out.

The New York roots made this partnership feel natural from day one. Kith and the New York Knicks have continued to grow their relationship over the years. Kith has released Knicks collections across multiple seasons, including a 2026 Playoffs capsule that reflected the pride and energy New Yorkers bring when rallying behind their team.

One of the boldest football collaborations of the modern era came in 2019 when Palace linked with Juventus through Adidas. The iconic black-and-white stripes of the Italian powerhouse mixed with Palace’s deep roots in skateboarding, resulting in a drop that felt fresh and ahead of its time.

Another collaboration rooted in city culture came when Off-White™ partnered with the Chicago Bulls. The Chicago connection of the late Virgil Abloh made the project even more meaningful. Highlighted by a standout varsity jacket, the collection merged basketball history with modern luxury streetwear.

Stüssy and Paris Saint-Germain teamed up for a special kit release in 2022. The collaboration reworked PSG’s emblematic Hechter design while keeping the club’s legendary color palette intact. A great example of how football easily blends with streetwear.

Mitchell & Ness are no stranger to sports gear, but back in 2023, they teamed up with A BATHING APE® for a special collaboration with the NHL. The collection featured premium hockey jerseys, knitted beanies, and graphic t-shirts, paying homage to four NHL teams: the Anaheim Ducks, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Florida Panthers. This collaboration easily blends classic hockey aesthetics with BAPE’s signature streetwear identity.

During Paris Fashion Week, Y-3 unveiled its collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. Later used at the Japanese Grand Prix, the kits featured a bold wolf graphic across the front, a major shift from Mercedes’ usual look. The Adidas sub–brand, Y-3, is led by legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto.
