Not to be outdone, it looks like XBOX has their wave of games to look forward to.
The hits just keep on coming as the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 concludes with a whole roster of epic games waiting in the horizon.
We got release dates and new reveals, with one in particular shocking us all. There’s a lot of announcements to parse through but these are our five standout titles of the Showcase.
Gears of War: E-Day
It’s been nearly 20 years since Gears of War revolutionized the third-person shooter genre. Now, after witnessing an entire saga of brutal combat and desperate survival, we get to see how it all began.
Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel that will take us through the events when the Locust Horde first erupted from the ground and attacked humanity. We get to see series protagonists’ Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago back in the bloody trenches again as these two young soldiers navigate through the horrors of those first few days.
Fable
The storied open-world action-RPG is back with more details in the XBOX Games Showcase. This reboot of the classic IP continues to look visually impressive while remaining true to the series’ whimsical themes.
This trailer shows a darker side to that whimsy however, as we get a look of the games’ primary antagonist. No doubt there’s a very detailed and tragic backstory accompanying her, but as with Fable tradition, it’ll be up to you on how to ultimately deal with her.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
Looks like the highly anticipated remake of the first Halo game is arriving with more content. We’re getting a mini-prequel to the events of Halo: Combat Evolved told in three all-new original missions.
It’s icing on an already beautiful looking cake. Halo: Campaign Evolved is already winning fans over with how faithfully they’re updating a beloved game to modern standards and now they’re getting a bonus on top of it. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long as the game is releasing on XBOX on July 28.
DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations
The Slayer is back in the XBOX Games Showcase with an all new blood-soaked adventure. In this expansion of the 2025 action-shooter hit, old truths and new mysteries will be revealed as the Slayer carves a path to freedom.
This DLC really promises to be a meaty one with new levels, puzzles, demons, and weapons to chew through. And it’s all dropping on July 7, just enough time to get ready and sharpen your Shield Saw.
Persona 6
Originally we were going to put the Persona 4 Revival teaser here but all thoughts of that went away the moment this announcement dropped. It’s been a decade since the last entry in the iconic JRPG series, and this teaser left us wanting more.
The foreboding atmosphere, creepy color coding, and clear horror imagery immediately sets this Persona apart. The series has always delved into dark and heavy themes, but a complete dive into horror is an exciting possibility for this franchise. We’re eagerly awaiting for more news on this one.
