PMNFT debutant Cole Mrowka could not have asked for a better start to his international career. After developing in the United States and spending time with the Columbus Crew and Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Mrowka finally got his opportunity to represent the Philippines and he made sure to make it count.
A Dream Debut

The Filipino-American midfielder scored within minutes of his debut as the Philippine Men’s National Football Team cruised to a 5-1 victory over Guam in the opening match of the Tri-Nation Friendlies at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
“It’s just amazing, obviously in front of the fans,” Mrowka said after the match. “In five minutes, you can’t ask for a better start.”
The early goal immediately helped settle the debutant into the match and gave him confidence for the rest of the evening.
“It gives me confidence throughout the rest of the game and just going along with that,” the 20-year old added.
For Mrowka, the occasion carried significance beyond the goal itself. After years of waiting for the opportunity, he finally stepped onto the pitch wearing Philippine colors.
“It took a while, a few years, but finally being able to represent the country and make my family proud, make the people of this country proud, and do the best I can on the pitch,” he said.
More Goals Ahead?
The strong debut has naturally raised expectations for what Mrowka can contribute moving forward, especially after making an immediate impact in front of the home crowd. However, the forward remains focused on continuing to help the team and building on his encouraging start.
With another match in the Tri-Nation Friendlies against Myanmar, Mrowka will have an additional opportunity to further establish himself within the squad and continue developing chemistry with his teammates.
