With F1’s fanbase growing rapidly, here’s how you can catch the upcoming season in the Philippines.
Formula 1 season is once again upon us, and this year promises to be an interesting one. Lando Norris and McLaren look to continue their dominance, while Audi and Cadillac join the 11-team field. New technical regulations are in place, and it will be interesting to see which constructor has solved the puzzle.
With more and more Filipino fans buying into the F1 hype, here’s how you can tune in to all the action all the way from Manila!
beIN SPORTS
As of writing, beIN SPORTS is the sole platform airing F1 races in the Philippines. Still, that should be more than enough for the growing fanbase. For as low as PhP 199, fans can already avail of a monthly subscription, allowing them to stream the season live and on demand.
A one-month pass at PhP 219 is also available if you’re still hesitant for a full-on subscription. On the other hand, beIN Sports also offers a one-time big-time rate of PhP 1670, which will have you covered all-year round. Sports bars and other commercial establishments also have a special promo which they could check out on the official website.
Also part of beIN SPORTS’ offerings are top-flight football leagues including LALIGA, Bundesliga, and the Premier League, and select tennis tournaments like Roland Garros and the Australian Open. Avid motorsports can also stream Formula 2 and Formula 3 races here, along with the World Rally Championship and DTM (German Touring Car Masters), to name a few.
Sports bars and cafes
In past years, sports bars have hosted F1 watch parties, and it’s no different this year. As early as now, the Monarch Manila in Makati has already laid out an initial schedule — confirming watch parties for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Chinese Grand Prix, Japanese Grand Prix, and Bahrain Grand Prix.
Nearby establishments, such as Skyline Sports and Social in Century City Mall, and Auring’s in Poblacion, will also be hosting Australian GP watch parties. Those in the South may also want to consider Korsa Pitstop Cafe in Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Along with other establishments, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see them covering other races throughout the season.
Apart from enjoying with your fellow F1 fans, race schedules are also unique. For instance, the Australian GP takes place at around lunchtime in Manila. On the other hand, you have Bahrain and Monaco that start at around 9PM, making it the perfect time for a night-out with friends.
