LOOK: Kai Sotto Finally Makes His NBA Summer League Debut!
After sitting out the Orlando Magic’s first few games, Kai Sotto finally got his chance to shine in the NBA Summer League.
Kai Sotto officially checked into his first game for the Orlando Magic, as he finally made his much-awaited debut in the NBA Summer League against the Portland Trail Blazers in Las Vegas on Friday.
The 21-year-old Filipino rising basketball star came off the bench early in the second quarter after sitting out the team’s previous three games in the Summer League. Though he did not score any points in his first five minutes on the court, he recorded two rebounds and one block.

The Magic brought Sotto back into the game in the third and fourth quarters, where he was finally able to see his first buckets, scoring a total of six points — an incredible achievement for the young NBA hopeful. On top of this, he also finished the game recording four rebounds, three blocks, and one assist.
Ultimately, however, Orlando fell to Portland, 88-71.
Despite the loss, this still marks a historic occasion for the Philippines, as countless Filipino basketball fans have finally been able to witness the country’s homegrown talent make a scoring impression in his NBA debut.
