Aurora Gaming may be world champions, but Demonkite knows that he can’t let that distract him.

It’s a new season but the same mindset for Aurora Gaming PH’s Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto as the reigning world champions are taking it slow and steady.

Right now Aurora Gaming are in a tight race for the top spot in MPL PH Season 17. The other teams have certainly been putting up a real challenge for the M7 champions as they’re not looking as dominant as they did in previous seasons. When The GAME asked if there’s any additional pressure on them as world champions, Demonkite said that wasn’t the case.

Wala talaga napagiba kasi well trained na kami pagdating sa mindset namin. Kahit ilang championships makuha namin as a team, pag kailangan na namin mag-perform, kinakalimutan namin yung mga achievements namin. Kumbaga wala kaming ego, pataasan ng rank, work together as a team talaga,” Demonkite said in an exclusive interview.

This was the mindset instilled in them from the very beginning and Demonkite sees no reason to change it up. To him, it doesn’t matter if they’re world champions or if they’re not winning every match. What matters is that they’re in sync with each other and win when it counts.

Kung hindi kami sobrang natatalo or gumagana pa rin yung strategy namin, then why change?”

Looking ahead, Demonkite believes it’s going to be another showdown between them and Team Liquid at the top. As for who’s trailing after them, he believes it’s down to Team Falcons and ONIC Philippines.

Maganda yung dynamics [ng Team Falcons] as a team,” said Aurora Gaming’s Demonkite. “Sobrang connected si [Salic “Hadji” Imam] sa team and nakikita ko yung full potential ng Falcons.”

Demonkite added that ONIC looks strong but it’s clear they have problems, though he doesn’t believe it’s because they’re playing with an import.

Nung napanood ko sila, nakakasabay naman si [Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto] sa playstyle nila. I think yung whole team may konting kailangan i-adjust this season.”
