The Indonesian import is slowly but surely getting used to his new environment.
As the first week of MPL PH Season 17 comes to a close, ONIC PH’s Gold Laner Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto finds himself getting back to his old form.
The Indonesian import has had a bit of an uneven run in his MPL PH debut. There were clear problems with team coordination in the first few weeks. However, he’s had plenty of opportunities to shine as well.
“I think it’s so far, so good, but it can always be better,” said ONIC PH’s Savero to the media.

Savero has already won a few match MVPs and has the distinction of having an undefeated record with Yi Sun-shin. He’s also a two time MPL Indonesia champion, so his abilities are not in doubt. The question is if he’ll be able to fully integrate with ONIC PH in time for the playoffs.
Tough Competition
“[Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano] was my toughest opponent in the Gold Lane,” mused Savero. “He has good laning mechanics and he has his signature decision making.”
It’s no surprise that Savero feels challenged by a former world champion Gold Laner. But after reflecting on the first half, he also had to give props to Team Liquid’s Dave “Teddyqt” Viaña.
“I think Teddyqt is a good player since he’s adapted to the teamplay of Team Liquid very quickly.”
Teddyqt is a fresh rookie, thrusted suddenly into the MPL spotlight, but even Savero can see he’s held his own quite well despite the pressure. The two of them are also the newest additions to their respective teams, so some comparisons can’t be helped. It remains to be seen which one will come out on top by the end of the season.
