This is now the question after Solomon’s surprise entry to the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft — a development that’s still facing uncertainty as the prized opposite continues to keep her options open.
“‘Di siya naging madali actually [deciding for the PVL draft]. Ilang months ko rin pinag–isipan, then hindi pa naman firm ‘yung decision. But we’ll see, and thankful pa rin naman ako na nandito ako and [pwede] magpa-draft,” Solomon said during the PVL Draft Combine at the Gameville Ball Park on Thursday.
“Happy [lang] kasi nakikita ko ‘yung iba’t ibang players from other school and nakakabond din kami. Nakakapag-usap sa kung ano ‘yung nangyari nila sa past season.”
Solomon is coming off a productive Japan SV.League debut, putting up 147 points on 116 attacks, 27 blocks, and six aces across 30 games with the Osaka Marvelous — an experience that the star opposite now considers as her best asset.
After all, playing in Japan allowed the former NU star to experience a culture built on championship-level work ethic, along with the importance placed toward athletes’ health and nutrition.
“Like kung paano talaga magtrabaho ‘yung mga Japanese. Makikita mo kung paano nila ihagis ‘yung katawan nila sa floor, and hindi talaga nila hinahayaang bumagsak ‘yung bola. So dahil doon, na-inspire ako na kaya ko rin naman siguro ‘yun. More on hardwork talaga ‘yung experience ko,” Solomon shared.
“May food din kami na nakalaan na everyday and may training kami sa morning, may lunch kami. Then may training din kami sa hapon, and ‘yung mga meals namin, naka-align na talaga sa magiging takbo ng liga namin doon.”
If she does push through to the PVL, Solomon is just excited to build a contender with her next team, a far cry from playing from winning teams like the NU Lady Bulldogs and even Osaka Marvelous.
“For me, parang wala pa rin expectations, but if ever na mapunta ako sa kahit saang team, bibigay ko lang talaga ‘yung natutunan ko sa Japan and magtutulungan kami,” the former UAAP Finals MVP admitted.
“Actually mas masaya manalo kapag nasa ganong position ka [young team], kasi alam mong pinaghirapan. So excited ako na mangyari siguro ‘yun if ever.”
