The Secrets Hidden in Marvel Tokon’s Latest Trailer
The Avengers are cool and all but what we really want to know is who’s coming next in the roster.
It’s no secret that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the most highly anticipated fighting game right now, especially since fans are going crazy about the roster.
Three teams have already been revealed, leaving us with Dr. Doom and Ghost Rider. We’ve also gone through all previously revealed characters, meaning everything from this point forward will be original. There’s a lot of hype, and developers Arc System Works have dropped lots of hints on who they could be.

The latest Marvel Tokon trailer is the most blatant. It’s clear that the glitched out team leaders poster at the end points to Dr. Doom’s team to be the next one revealed. Aside from the green coloring and the sketch of Doom’s mask at the top left, the #5 sketch on the top right makes this airtight as Dr. Doom first appeared in The Fantastic Four issue #5. The proximity to Spider-Man also adds weight to this as they first crossed paths in The Amazing Spider-Man issue #5.
Keeping with the spider-related hints, Spider-Man’s face being scratched out plus the repeating 361’s at the lower left strongly hint that Carnage will be part of Doom’s team. The bloodthirsty, murderous symbiote first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man issue #361, after all. Carnage is a prominent Spider-Man villain and would be an interesting inclusion over everyone’s favorite symbiote, Venom.
Digging a Little Deeper
That leaves two more spots in Doom’s team and our only other hints are the claw marks. Their positioning over the letters EA and EX seem rather too intentional but that’s still very vague. However, if we look at previous trailers, we get some more interesting clues.
In the Amazing Guardians trailer, the team leaders poster has a magic wand and sparkles drawn next to Doom. Extrapolating from this and the letters EA, and we might be seeing Enchantress in the team. She’s a powerful sorceress from Asgard and is a recurring adversary of Thor. It’d be a rather cool pick as we still need more Marvel cosmic and mystic representation in the roster.

Now, if we assume that every member of Doom’s team will be a foil to each hero team, that just leaves the X-Men. Doom can handle the Avengers, Carnage will take on Spidey, and Enchantress can face whatever Ghost Rider’s team will be. So who’s EX and can they match with the X-Men?
It’d be crazy to think that Professor Xavier himself would fight his X-Men, let alone ally with Doom. Magneto is almost a given at that point, given his long history with the team. But we have an ultra longshot, crackpot theory. Maybe we can get the best of both worlds and have Onslaught to terrorize the X-Men?
We can only hope. And we patiently await the next trailer to see if Marvel Tokon can surprise us again.
