Another season, another trophy is placed in Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s trophy case as he and Team Liquid achieved the MPL PH’s first ever three-peat. Together with this historic achievement, Team Liquid will also be one of the Filipino teams competing in the 2026 Mid Season Cup taking place in Paris, France, as part of the Esports World Cup.
KarlTzy has been to many international tournaments but it’s clear that there was something different this time around. When Team Liquid qualified for MSC 2026 after defeating ONIC PH in the upper bracket final, KarlTzy was jumping out of his seat. Going to Paris means something to him and he confirmed as much with The GAME.
“Parang lahat ng mga bansa napupuntahan ko na sa paglalaro ko ng MLBB,” said KarlTzy with a smile. “Feel ko sobrang iba din ‘yung culture sa France kaya sobrang excited ako.”
Of course, he wouldn’t be traveling there without the help of his team. KarlTzy and Team Liquid achieved greatness this season and he’s straight to the point on how that makes him feel.
“Kami yung team na nakatatak sa history ng MLBB as ‘yung first team na naka three-peat,” said KarlTzy. “Sobrang proud ako sa kanila.”
KarlTzy faith in his team never wavered this season and he said as much in an interview with the media. Before, he would have some kind of lucky charm to help him throughout the season but this time, all he needed was his team to take home another championship.
“Ngayong season lang ‘yung wala akong lucky charm. Focused lang ako sa grand finals. Tingin ko na lahat ng ginawa namin ngayon may meaning. Kaya hindi ko iniisip ‘yung mga lucky charms – alam ko kaya namin no matter what.”
