Which team will call their shot and secure their spot in Worlds 2026?
We’re halfway through the season so it’s time for the best League of Legends teams from around the world to gather at Daejeon, South Korea, for the 2026 Midseason Invitationals. Eleven teams arrive but only one of them is walking away with a guaranteed spot at the World Championship.
MSI 2026 is divided into two stages, the Bracket Stage and the Play-In Stage. The champions of each region, along with the second seed of China, get a bye into the Bracket Stage. China’s Bilibili Gaming are this years’ First Stand champions, therefore giving their region an advantage for MSI.
The remaining second seed teams will have to fight it out in the Play-In Stage. Starting June 28, these four teams will play in a double elimination, best-of-five bracket. Only one team will earn the right to move on so there can be no room for mistakes.
The Bracket Stage starts on July 3 and works the same way – double elimination, best-of-five. The MSI 2026 champions will punch their tickets to Worlds 2026 while the region that makes it to second place gives their domestic league a fourth seed for the World Championships. The whole tournament will be played using Fearless Draft, so only the strongest and most clever team will prevail.
