Even professional MLBB players need some time to unwind.
MPL PH Season 17 is getting real intense for AP.Bren but even as the team’s fighting for a playoff spot, the Bees need some time to breathe. They got the perfect opportunity to do just that at the advanced screening of Mortal Kombat II, presented by Warner Bros.-Discovery in partnership with The GAME.
Of course, getting to sit back, relax, and enjoy a movie is a universal way to get some R&R. But there’s more than one way to unwind and for pro gamers like those from AP.Bren, that involves more gaming.
“Ako, mga iba pang 5v5 na games,” said AP.Bren’s EXP Laner and team captain Kiel “Kielvj” Cruzem. “Tulad ng VALORANT, Dota 2, ‘yung mga ganun.”

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that gamers would play other games in their spare time. What’s curious is that Kielvj is still looking for something competitive even when he’s trying to relax. VALORANT and Dota 2 matches can get pretty intense even if you’re just playing the casual modes. The team aspect does present a good opportunity for the whole squad to get together and bond over games. And it’s not just limited to video games either.
“Ako parehas din,” said AP.Bren’s Roamer Denniel “Nova” Gomez. “Pero naglalaro din ako ng mga physical games. Madalas basketball.”
Team games are team games no matter if it’s digital or physical. A number of teams already play basketball among each other during their downtime. Plus, playing pick-up basketball is a timeless way to unwind and at least the team’s getting some exercise in as well.
So even when trying to relax, AP.Bren just can’t help themselves and still look for something to compete in. That competitive drive can’t be put to rest but it’s all good as long as they’re relaxing and having fun.
