We asked some of the Philippines’ gaming icons what they would like to see next on the silver screen.

Alodia Gosiengfiao has a pretty interesting suggestion on what video game should be turned into a movie. But then the same could be said for everyone who attended the advanced screening of Mortal Kombat II, presented by Warner Bros.-Discovery in partnership with The GAME.

Video game movie adaptations have been on a roll lately with a couple more already on the way. So we took the opportunity to ask out guests which one they’d like to see in cinemas in the future.

Alodia’s answer was short and sweet: “Diablo, because we played it growing up. Now with Diablo 4, I play it with my hubby [Christopher Quimbo] and we’re still huge fans of the series. It’s dark and I like dark.”

Eric “Eruption” Tai was fully on board with the fighting game movie bandwagon. He’s looking forward to the upcoming Street Fighter movie and wants Tekken to have another shot as well. But there was one game in particular that would absolutely hype him up if it were ever adapted.

“If they were able to bring it to live-action, man Dota would be amazing!” said Eric. “I’m a Dota gamer since 2004, and hanggang ngayon I still play. The titos would love that, and even some of the lolos right now! But you know what? A Mobile Legends [movie] would be pretty cool, or even Honor of Kings would be pretty good too. Zelda: Ocarina of Time would be pretty awesome as well.”

For the players of the professional MLBB team AP.Bren, they’re looking at games outside the MOBA genre. EXP Laner Kiel “Kielvj” Cruzem and Roamer Denniel “xNova” Gomez echoed Eruption’s thoughts and want to see another Tekken movie. They’d love to see their mains, Raven and Armor King respectively, going all out in live-action fight scenes.

Jungler James “Jamespangks” Mendoza thought PUBG: Battlegrounds would be interesting to see turned into a movie. There have been a few battle royale movies in the past so this shouldn’t be too daunting of a task.

Carlo Santos, also known as Locar Gaming, and his wife Gabby’s answer had their daughter Sunsun in mind. “Siguro ‘yung favorite game [ni Sunsun], ‘yung Grounded,” said Locar. “Kasi sobrang targeted ‘yun sa bata to learn ‘yung bugs and animal lives.”

Sana makuha nila si Sunsun as a ladybug!” added Gabby. “Maganda rin ‘yung storyline ni Grounded pag sinundan mo.

Kafi’s mind immediately went to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Understandable as the game is so cinematic that it’d be easy to bring to the big screen.

“It has such a good score and music, I feel like it would be such a good fit for a movie. Although I feel like if you retell the story, it would defeat the purpose of the game. I think the developers or producers should at least stick as close to the story as possible,” said Kafi.
