Held in Qatar over three days, the eFIBA World Finals started with eight teams divided into two groups. Each team played a best-of-1 round robin in their respective groups to determine who advances into playoffs. The top three moved on while the fourth place teams were eliminated. Playoffs was a double elimination bracket with the lower bracket semifinals and onwards turning into best-of-three matches and grand finals turning into a best-of-five.
Group A was composed of Algeria, France, Germany, and the Philippines. Even in this early stage, eGilas looked unstoppable as they dropped zero games against their competition. That dominance would carry on into the playoffs as they trounced Lebanon before meeting some resistance against France in the upper bracket semifinals.
But in the end, eGilas couldn’t be denied as they continued their warpath all the way into the grand finals. Turkiye kept things close, but they still got swept away by the Philippines as they claimed their first ever eFIBA World Finals championship.

Sweeping the Field
Throughout the entirety of the eFIBA World Finals, the Philippines only dropped one game – it was against France in the upper bracket semifinals. That dominance shows just how far ahead eGilas was in this event, which they can hopefully maintain in future tournaments.
Taking the World Finals MVP title was Miguel Hubillar who was leading in points throughout the grand finals. Accompanying him was Kenneth “Clue-” Gutierrez who won Defensive Player of the Year thanks to an average of 3.1 steals per game. With talent like this, it’s no wonder that eGilas was able to take the trophy.
