The Top Pairs From Steph Curry’s Sneaker Free Agency Auction
Over 70 pairs of from Stephen Curry’s sneaker free agency this past season were auctioned off.
With the Warriors not advancing to the 2026 NBA Playoffs, their season still had a few memorable moments that fans can look back on. One of them was franchise legend Stephen Curry’s sneaker free agency.
For more than a decade, Curry had been with Under Armour. However, the partnership between the two came to an end. Fans immediately began speculating where Curry would sign next, but the greatest shooter of all time chose a different path.
Instead of committing to a new deal right away, Curry explored and wore different pairs from various brands becoming the highlight of his season, sending fans and sneakerheads into a frenzy whenever he stepped on the court in something new. It became even more meaningful when Curry auctioned off more than 70 pairs from “The Stephen Curry Collection: My Sneaker Free Agency” through Sotheby’s.
The top pairs
Nike Hyperdunk 2010

This pair goes way back. Before signing with Under Armour, Curry frequently wore the Hyperdunks, and seeing him bring them back at this stage of his career felt nostalgic. It was easily one of the highlights of his first season as a sneaker free agent, with the pair selling for $121,600.
Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘Mambacita Sweet 16’

Shortly after his publicized departure from Under Armour, Curry wore this pair and instantly caught the internet’s attention. One of the most meaningful Kobe releases, the pair sold for $76,800 in the auction.
Nike Kobe IV Protro (‘CHBL’ and ‘Gold Medal’)

No pair got more reps from the Chef than the Kobe 4s. Curry paid homage to the Kobe line throughout the season, much like many players across the league. Still, seeing Steph Curry consistently rock this silhouette stood out. Each pair sold for $70,400.
AE1 Low ‘Gold Medal’ PE

During All-Star Media Day, Steph Curry rocked this ‘Gold Medal’ PE of the AE1s, one of the more surprising pairs of his run. It sold for $24,320.
ANTA KAI 3 ‘Chinese New Year’

Curry wore this pair in three games during the season, reaching major milestones along the way. He became the first player to reach 10,000 three-point attempts and climbed to 20th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. The pair sold for $70,400.
What’s next?
Officials at Sotheby’s announced that Curry raised $1.7 million from the auction. Proceeds will go to the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Curry and Ayesha Curry in 2019.
While it was a fun and unique season, injuries lingered throughout Curry’s campaign, contributing to the Warriors’ early exit in the play-in tournament, but when healthy, he still showed that he’s still one of the best players in the league.
Brands will undoubtedly be lining up to partner with Curry, but there is also a chance fans could see a second chapter of this sneaker free agency. If this season proved anything, it is that even without a deal, Curry can still dominate the conversation.
