It looks like Dragon Ball video game fans have a lot to look forward to in the future.
The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 concluded last weekend and with it came a slew of announcements on both video game and anime front. Some bombshells were dropped for video game fans however, so we’ve tallied up the biggest ones here so you know what to expect in the near future.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
It was gaming’s biggest open secret but now it’s official – Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is releasing in 2027. The third installment of the biggest Dragon Ball video game series to date will come out on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Xenoverse 3 promises a whole new world by original author Akira Toriyama to explore. While nothing concrete has been revealed yet, we can expect the series’ deep character creation options to make a return. Plus, being set in the distant future opens up some interesting possibilities for the game’s story.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Future Saga Chapter 4
Of course with the announcement of the next installment, Xenoverse 2 also announced its swansong DLC. As the concluding chapter to the game, the Future Saga DLC sets up a dramatic final battle that will reflect nearly a decade of adventures in the Dragon Ball world.
This one really feels like a celebration of the legacy of Xenoverse 2, so much so that other Dragon Ball games are getting collab events as well. Future Saga Chapter 4 is launching later this summer.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Super Limit Breaking Neo
Setting aside the ridiculous name, Super Limit Breaking Neo is a massive DLC update for 2024’s smash success, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. The update releases later this summer, adding new characters, costumes, stages, and game modes to give players more reason to check out the game.
The biggest thing about this update is that it’ll have changes addressing community expectations and feedback. Sparking! Zero did have a massive impact, but some fans felt that it fell below expectations compared to the Budokai Tenkaichi games that it was trying to emulate. Maybe this update will bring back the spark of those old, legendary games.
Dragon Ball FighterZ – Goku (SS4, DAIMA)
Even eight years later, one of the most hype anime fighters is still alive and kicking. Goku’s latest Super Saiyan form is dropping into FighterZ on April 22, much sooner than what everyone was expecting.
Initial impressions have ranged from the extremely excited to cautiously optimistic. New updates for old games are always welcome but some are questioning the overall quality of the new SS4 form. That, and the tendency for new Goku’s to come out in an extremely imbalanced state has people on their toes. But at the very least fans are hyped that they don’t have to wait long to get the power of Super Saiyan 4 in their hands.
