As if Asia’s biggest video game expo wasn’t big enough, they’re really going all the way this year.

Video game fans in Asia, and even all over the world, better get ready as Tokyo Game Show 2026 is pulling all the stops to make this their biggest event yet. Set to take place in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan, the largest video game expo in Asia will run from September 17 to 21.

That’s right, to celebrate their 30th anniversary, Tokyo Game Show 2026 will run for a full five days. The first two days are reserved as business days, where developers and publishers get the opportunity to meet and collaborate. The remaining three days are public days, where fans can roam and see what the show floor has to offer.

“Despite being set in the small island nation of Japan, it feels like the whole world is in Tokyo Game Show,” said Taiyo Tanabe, Head of Nikkei BP Tokyo Game Show Management Office. “The global market is attracted to Tokyo Game Show, making it a truly global event.”

Tanabe would go on to explain the truly massive growth the expo has had over the years. According to Tanabe, the number of exhibitors since the end of COVID has almost doubled. From 605 exhibitors in 2022, they’re at 1,136 exhibitors in 2025. Overseas exhibitors have increased by 2.1 times as well.

“Whenever you go to Tokyo Game Show, you’ll find it’s always full of exhibitors, events, and fans. It’s something that every participant looks forward to.”

Be Part of the Show

To that end, Tokyo Game Show 2026 is inviting all potential exhibitors and partners to be part of the biggest video gaming event in Asia. Interested exhibitors can check out their official website for application details and more.

But beyond that, Tokyo Game Show continues their tradition of supporting the evergrowing indie gaming scene. Selected Indie 80 is back and open to all daring independent developers. Only 80 of the most creative indie games will get a chance to have their own booth on the Tokyo Game Show floor and show the world what you’re capable of. Interested applicants can find more details here.

We’re still months away from Tokyo Game Show 2026 but the excitement is already palpable. We can’t for them to fully open their doors later this September.
