THE New York Knicks are NBA champions once more after turning back Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in five thrilling games.
This is now the Knicks’ first title in 53 years, and comes under the leadership of Finals Most Valuable Player Jalen Brunson, Karl Anthony-Towns, OG Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges.
As expected, social media was abuzz following the Game 5 title clincher, which New York won 93-90.

As expected, several fans gave Brunson their flowers, being a small guard who defied expectations by leading the Knicks to a long-awaited championship.
Veteran play-by-play announcer Mike Breen, a lifelong Knicks fan, was another talking point throughout the celebrations. After countless NBA finals that he’s called, Breen has gotten the once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness his hometown team hoist up the Larry O’Brien trophy.
But as the Knicks began the celebrations, the Spurs’ efforts didn’t go unnoticed either. Despite parading a young core, San Antonio still made it all the way to the Finals — a run where they took down defending champs Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.
