A good mix of NBA superstars and rising stars is currently competing in the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket.

National pride will be taking center stage for Europe’s finest NBA talents in the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket.

Eighteen out of the 24 competing teams feature at least one active NBA player in their final rosters for the EuroBasket — highlighting the importance of national team representation within the European basketball scene.

From a three-time Most Valuable Player to a number of rising stars, here are some of the NBA’s top talents currently competing in the Eurobasket.

Nikola Jokić (Serbia)

Three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic is back for another tour of duty with Serbia after leading them to a bronze medal finish in the 2024 Paris Olympics. This time around, Jokic and the Eagles are out for redemption in the EuroBasket after suffering a Round of 16 exit three years ago.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece)

Now in his third EuroBasket appearance, no less than a podium finish should be the goal for Giannis Antetokounmpo as he dons Greece’s blue and white colors once more.

Luka Dončić (Slovenia)

Being a one-time EuroBasket champion in 2017 and one of basketball’s most gifted stars, all eyes are on Luka Doncic as the Slovenians’ next-generation leader for the EuroBasket. Now, can Luka Magic lead them all the way to the gold medal this year?

Kristaps Porziņģis (Latvia)

The Unicorn is one of three NBA champions on this list, being a key part of the Boston Celtics’ dominant title run during the 2023-24 NBA season. We can all expect “KP” to prove that he still has a lot left in the tank for this year’s EuroBasket, especially after getting traded to the Atlanta Hawks over the offseason.

Lauri Markkanen (Finland)

Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markannen has been turning heads since the EuroBasket tuneup games, erupting for a career-best 48 points during a friendly against Belgium last August 9, which he followed up with a 31-point outing in a rematch three days later. Capping off this monster stretch was his 42-point game against Poland last August 17.

Alperen Şengün (Turkey)

Alperen Sengun proudly dons another shade of red for his second-straight EuroBasket appearance with Turkey, following his first NBA All-Star season with the Houston Rockets.

As one of the Rockets’ cornerstones, Sengun put up 19.1 points and a career-high 10.3 rebounds per game in a career-high 76 games played in the 2024-25 NBA season. Moreover, the Turkish big also made his first postseason appearance after leading the Rockets to a second-seed finish.

Franz Wagner (Germany)

As a key cog of both Germany and the NBA’s Orlando Magic, Franz Wagner looks to add another medal to his national team resume that already includes a bronze medal in the 2022 EuroBasket and a historic gold for Germany during the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Zaccharie Risacher (France)

Zacharie Risacher makes his senior team debut with a season’s worth of NBA experience under his belt. In case you missed it, he was also a finalist for the 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year award, which was ultimately won by the San Antonio Spurs’ Stephon Castle.

Last year’s top pick is one of four active NBA stars on France’s EuroBasket roster alongside Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, and Guerschon Yabusele. In the long run, we can also expect these stars to be part of a promising French core led by San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, who is currently recovering from a deep vein thrombosis.

Deni Avdija (Israel)

Israel’s Deni Avdija is coming off a breakout year with the Portland Trail Blazers, putting up career-highs of 16.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 72 games played. Avdija is also expected to play a bigger role with his native country, and he looks to apply this newfound confidence as he does so.

Santi Aldama (Spain)

Last but not least is Santi Aldama, the lone active NBA player for defending EuroBasket champions Spain. Similar to the other young stars on this list, Aldama continues his rise in the NBA. As a complementary piece to the Ja Morant-led Memphis Grizzlies, Aldama is coming off his best season in the NBA with career-best numbers of 12.6 points, 36.8 percent three-point shooting, and 6.4 rebounds.

Aldama is also expected to be one of La Familia’s leaders moving forward, and he hopes to validate that trust as he makes his first-ever appearance in the EuroBasket.
