It’s like we’re looking into a window to the 2010’s with these skins.
Riot Games is really going for an authentic early League of Legends feel as they’ve just teased some skins for their upcoming League Classic gamemode. The throwback mode was leaked a few days ago but it was pretty clear that Riot are committed to bringing back that era of League of Legends, funny low quality skins included.

The teased skins and their respective champions are Barron Rammus, Founders Black Alistar, Founders Goth Annie, and Founders Silver Kayle. Blitzcrank is also part of the lineup but his skin comes in Rustier and Rustiest versions.
Now we may have mentioned ‘low quality’ skins but these batch of skins are more than that. These skins have little extra visual flairs that give them a bit more character and identity. Of course, obviously meant to ape on League’s early skins – back when they were little more than recolors. Those old skins are objectively bad but they have a certain charm that’s missing in modern League of Legends.
These skins in particular seem to be paying homage to the exclusive skins that came with League’s Collector’s Packs that were released in 2009. Specifically, the Digital Collector’s Pack included the original Black Alistar and Goth Annie. The Retail Collector’s Pack included the original Silver Kayle and Young Ryze, who doesn’t seem to have a Founders version so far. Of all of these Collector’s Packs skins, only Goth Annie remains purchasable.

Details on how to obtain these skins are still unknown. The prevailing theory is that they’ll be part of the battle pass that’ll launch with League Classic. Some think that they’ll give the Founders skins for free to those players who have the original Collector’s skins. That’d be a nice gift from Riot to those who’ve stuck around after all these years but either way, we’ll find out once League Classic releases later this year.
