Team Liquid Teddyqt’s Quick Tips for Playing Claude
Learn how to play the Master Thief to his fullest from Team Liquid’s wonder rookie.
Claude has been a pro play staple in MLBB esports for years and Team Liquid’s Dave “Teddyqt” Viaña has some pointers for those who want to give the slippery Marksman a shot.
“Sa early, mag-farm lang kayo hanggang makuha mo na yung mga core items niyo,” Teddyqt told The GAME. The items he’s referring to are the ‘holy trinity’ of Marksman items: Corrosion Scythe, Demon Hunter Sword, and Golden Staff.
“Sa teamfights, wag kayo palagi gumagamit ng Battle Mirror Image (BMI). Pag wala kayong BMI, mag-poke lang kayo pero kung meron kayong BMI, kailangan tapangan niyo. Yun na yung time niyo.”
BMI is the key ability that makes Claude such a difficult opponent to pin down. He creates a mirror image at a nearby location that he can swap places with no matter how far apart they are. As Teddyqt mentioned, this advantage is what Claude players should be maximizing when they want to apply pressure or damage.

“Sa talents, either Swift or Thrill para sa first slot,” continued Teddyqt. “Yung Thrill, mas-masakit siya sa pag-poke at yung Swift mas-basic attack reliant. Tapos Master Assassin sa second slot para sa laning stage tapos Quantum Charge para sa third.”
Swift provides Attack Speed while Thrill provides Adaptive Attack, so picking one or the other depends on the playstyle you want to use. Master Assassin is always a solid pick for laning as it gives solo heroes a damage boost. And Quantum Charge is an all-around favorite as it gives you Movement Speed and some Healing, perfect for Marksman heroes for all stages of the game.
Finally, Teddyqt recommends that you run Claude with the Fighter emblem set as this helps him with his overall survivability.
“Binago nila yung Spell Vamp into Hybrid Lifesteal, so mas-applicable na siya sa mga basic attack reliant na heroes. Bagay-na-bagay na siya sa mga Marksman heroes.”

Frequently Asked Questions
According to Team Liquid’s Teddyqt, Claude’s core item build—often called the “holy trinity”—consists of Corrosion Scythe, Demon Hunter Sword, and Golden Staff.
Teddyqt advises players not to use BMI excessively. If you do not have your BMI available, play conservatively and focus on poking; save your BMI for when you are ready to be aggressive and apply pressure or deal damage.
Teddyqt suggests running the Fighter emblem set, as it provides hybrid lifesteal, which is highly beneficial for basic attack-reliant marksmen like Claude.
For the first slot, choose between Swift (for attack speed) or Thrill (for adaptive attack) based on your preferred playstyle. For the second slot, Master Assassin is recommended for the laning stage, and Quantum Charge is the preferred choice for the third slot.
The priority in the early game is to farm consistently until you secure your core items, as Claude’s power spike relies heavily on completing his essential gear.
