There’s a lot of work and a lot of things to learn for Omega Esports this MPL PH Season 17.
It’s been a real trial by fire for Omega Esports’ Carl “Minguin” Gallantes as he continues to lead his team through their bumpy MPL PH Season 17 run.
Even though we’re more than halfway through the season, the Barangay’s performance still has peaks and valleys. They may have defeated a struggling Aurora Gaming PH but they still lack the prowess to challenge the rest of the teams above them in the standings.
“Yung consistency yung wala sa amin,” said Omega Esports’ Minguin in an interview with the media. “Meron kaming nagagawa sa scrims namin na hindi namin na lalabas sa matches. Siguro sa decision making namin hindi pa rin solid yung mga calls. Yun talaga yung kailangan tibayan namin kasi bagong team pa kami. Kailangan namin ng mas-matibay na chemistry.”
That chemistry can only come through experience and at the very least the team is getting a lot of it. Their matches tend to have longer game times on average and while that does come from their lack of consistency, it certainly means that they have a lot to take away from every match.
“Manalo o matalo, meron laging kami natutunan sa mga games dito. Na aaral namin yung mga errors namin,” said Omega Esports’ Minguin. “Lahat naman ng mga MPL teams malakas – kahit world champions sila or previous world champions, ganun pa rin. Confidence lang talaga ang bitbit namin sa bawat game and tiwala sa isa’t-isa.”
