This has been the best TNC has looked in years, and the team is determined to keep improving from here.
It was a heartbreaking end to the season for TNC’s coach E2MAX and crew, as they fell short of a grand finals and M7 appearance to Team Liquid.
The team have maintained a steady rate of improvement throughout the regular season, but really heated up in the playoffs. All their prior matches went the full five games, with their upset win against ONIC PH being their biggest shocker. Unfortunately, Team Liquid was in playoffs-form and put TNC down with a 4-1 victory at the lower bracket finals.
The team was so close to their first ever M-series appearance, but even after such a crushing defeat, coach Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic can still see a silver lining.
“Yung natutunan namin this season is kung ganito kami nakaka-perform sa playoffs, dapat maganda yung momentum namin sa regular season,” said TNC’s coach E2MAX to the media. “Naniniwala talaga kami na pagdating sa playoffs, nagiiba yung caliber ng mga teams. So possible na maidadala namin to sa next season.”
TNC may have leveled up in the playoffs, but it’s clear that there was still something missing in their play. When asked about this, coach E2MAX admitted that this was something that would need more time in review.
“Kasi merong games na execution lang yung kulang namin. Then merong games na nahihirapan kami sa draft.” continued TNC’s coach E2MAX. “Siguro kailangan lang namin palawakan yung knowledge namin maglaro ng ibang playstyles.”
But now that their competitive year is done, the big question is will TNC be able to keep this up? Coach E2MAX said that this performance should give them momentum for next season, but that’s about five months away. TNC has also had massive drop-offs between seasons so maintaining momentum is going to be TNC’s big challenge moving forward.
“Siguro kailangan ko magtanong para maiwasan yon,” said TNC’s coach E2MAX. “Nangyari na sa TNC yon so kailangan ko kumuha ng mga ideas. At kahit maganda yung results namin ngayon, dapat maintindihan namin na madami pa ang pwede namin matutunan, kailangan i-improve. Maraming kailangan trabahuin para ma-make sure namin na better yung TNC next season.”
