The second half will be the true test to find out whether or not Twisted Minds deserves to be at the top.
It’s going to be an exciting second half for Twisted Minds’ coach BON CHAN, as it’ll be his team’s chance to prove that they’re the real deal. After a hot start to the season, Twisted Minds has slowed down considerably but still maintains a top spot.
Coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza was given a tough task leading this former MDL champion team. Amateur and development league teams have historically not done very well when brought wholesale into the MPL. Still, the coach was willing to give it a shot, and now he’s seeing the full potential of the team.
“Hindi naman ako nage-expect sa magiging performance ng team until nag 3-0 kami. Dun ako naliwanagan na contender talaga yung team na to,” said Twisted Minds’ coach BON CHAN. “Pero syempre, dahil nandun kami sa taas dadating din yung point na titingnan kami ng ibang teams. Alam na nila paano i-handle kami kaya para sa akin, kailangan namin humanap ng other way para may ibang Twisted Minds makikita sa second phase.”
Just as well as there’s going to be a big meta shift with the introduction of the new map changes. On that front, Coach BON CHAN trusts that his boys can handle whatever new meta surfaces in the coming weeks.
“Mabilis naman sila maka-adapt kasi pagdating sa MDL, lahat ng heroes ginagamit nila dahil may global ban. Kaya kada-practice namin, every time meron akong sina-suggest sinasabi nila ‘sige coach, alam ko paano gamitin yan.’”
Either way, it’s going to be a fierce second half of the season for all the MPL teams. Twisted Minds have shown that they can fight but there may be more losses to follow now that everyone’s taking them seriously. Does this young squad have the mental fortitude against setbacks and disappointments? The coach certainly thinks so.
“Unang-una, nag-set ako ng proper expectations sa kanila,” said Twisted MInds’ coach BON CHAN. “Every time matalo sila, sinasabi ko na it’s part of the game; Part talaga ng journey na maranas sila ng talo and it’s up to them paano sila makakabawi, babangon. Lahat naman ng teams dumadaan sa talo so normal lang makaranas sila non.”
