Even as a sixth man, Sensui is always keeping an eye on what he and the team can do better.
Despite unforeseen circumstances, it was a pretty good week for Twisted Minds’ Sensui as he and his team were able to hold on to first place, if only briefly. Despite this being Stephen “Sensui” Castillo’s third time appearing onstage with Twisted Minds, he was still ready to answer his team’s call when they needed him.
“Pagdating dito sa venue, mas-lalong sumama yung pakiramdam ni [Michael “MP the King” Endino],” said Twisted Minds’ Sensui. “Tapos tinanong ni coach [Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza] kung ready ako. Tapos yun, sinabi ko ready ako. Parang na-excite ako at masaya kasi makakalaro ulit ako.”
Many would have taken this substitution to be a detriment to the team but that was far from the case. Sensui’s movement was razor sharp and he was completely in sync with the team, so much so that it looked like he was always part of Twisted Minds’ starting five.
“Araw-araw ako naglalaro nang MLBB, nagre-review ng games,” said Twisted Minds’ Sensui. “Kapag nasa sixth man ka, marami kang mare-realize kaysa paglalaro lang kase mas-malawak yung perspective mo as an observer. Ina-apply ko lang yung natutunan ko at yung nakita kong kailangan i-improve.”
That kind of work ethic definitely pays off whenever Sensui is called to play, rare as that may be. But even when he’s not playing on stage, Sensui has other responsibilities in the team that make him an invaluable member.
“Kahit sixth man ka hindi lang paglalaro yung contribution mo sa team. Madami ka pa rin pwedeng i-contribute kagaya ng paghahanap ng mga error-error, lalo na sa players perspective. Kumbaga natutunan ko lalo na rookie pa rin yung bagong tatlo sa amin. Gina-guide ko sila.”
Either way, Sensui is always working on himself and making sure his skills are always improving. He’s proven that he shouldn’t be taken lightly just because he’s a sixth man and it’ll be exciting to see how Twisted Minds will utilize him in the future.
