Future Classics: The Best Kits at FIFA World Cup 2026

By Amiel Dugenia - May 14, 2026

FIFA World Cup 2026 will have 48 nations participating with over 100 kits released. These are some that stand out.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicking off in less than a month, it still feels surreal that almost four years have already passed since the last edition. Football has evolved in many ways during that span, but the beautiful game remains as captivating as ever, and the kits on the sport’s biggest stage continue to be a huge part of that identity.

For the first time in World Cup history, 48 nations will participate in the tournament, meaning fans will get over a hundred different shirts throughout the competition. From modern reinterpretations of classics to bold experimental concepts. Here are some of the most noteworthy kits we’ll see at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The defending champions have always looked classy on the pitch, and this year is no different. While the home kit shines brighter with another star added above the crest, the away kit has sparked divided opinions among supporters. Still, the Fileteado Porteño folk art-inspired detailing gives the shirt a distinct personality. With Argentina aiming to go back-to-back, this kit could become an iconic part of another memorable chapter in their history.

Brazil home

Speaking of iconic shirts, Brazil’s home kit remains one of the most recognizable pieces in all of sports. Even people who do not follow football instantly recognize the famous yellow shirt. This year’s Nike template works perfectly with the Selecao aesthetic, especially when paired with the traditional blue shorts and white socks combination. The question now is whether this will be the kit that finally brings Brazil its long-awaited sixth star.

England away

The Three Lions’ kits this year also worked seamlessly with the Nike template. Heavily inspired by the beloved ‘90s Umbro kit, it translated well into a different template with this remake. The home kit looks stunning as usual, but it translated even better with the red base and white and navy trims. The long-sleeve version adds more flair to it. Will this be the year that football comes home?

France away

Les Bleus always know how to make a good set of kits. Another piece of evidence is the set that they will rep at this World Cup. In this set, however, the away kit might be the cleanest one. A white base and gold trims will always work, and this one is no different. A World Cup title in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2022, will France bounce back and make it two out of three?

Japan away

This is one of the strongest contenders for the best kit overall. Japan’s clean white base with rainbow pinstripes is well executed. Japan’s creativity is top notch, with the 12 rainbow colors representing the 11 players on the pitch and the supporters as one whole unit. Creatively classy.

Mexico home and third

The home kit is a well-executed homage to one of the greatest World Cup kits ever made. Mexico’s Aztec design from the 1998 World Cup is making its return. It is also timely as they are one of the host countries of this year’s event.

While the third kit, follows the same template. A different Aztec art pattern can be seen on the black base with bold ‘M’ and ‘X’ graphics, while Mexico’s colors run through the three stripes and Adidas logo.

Scotland away

Another kit with pinstripes lands on this list. Scotland’s lively kit sparked debates on the internet about what color this away shirt actually is. Is it salmon pink, coral, red, or something else entirely? Whatever the color is, Scottish fans hope that it will bring luck to their World Cup campaign. This shade paired with the navy pinstripes will look great on the pitch.

South Africa away

If it is about the premium feel, then this kit might be at the top of the list. South Africa’s away kit pays tribute to the nation’s languages, a powerful representation on the biggest stage of football. From the shades of green used to pairing them with gold, it is a masterful execution. The traditional pattern elements are also present without being overdone.

USA home

Rounding out this list is the home kit of one of the host nations, the USA. Inspired by the last kit they wore when they hosted the World Cup, the red and white stripes are a welcome sight, and having them arranged horizontally with the wave effect adds another layer of aesthetic to the whole look. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is surely one of the most noteworthy kits of the bunch.
