Jeff and Paul Tabinas both scored as the PMNFT capped off the Tri-Nation Friendlies with another 5-1 victory over Myanmar.

The Tabinas brothers delivered a night to remember as the Philippine Men’s National Football Team (PMNFT) wrapped up its Tri-Nation Friendlies campaign with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Myanmar in front of 4,662 fans.

While the final score mirrored the Philippines’ opening win over Guam, Myanmar proved to be a much tougher challenge early on in a tightly contested first half. Once the hosts found their breakthrough, the floodgates opened, and the Tabinas brothers started the scoring party.

PMNFT vs Myanmar: First-Half Stalemate, Second-Half Rout

The Philippines made six changes from the side that defeated Guam, with Michael Falkesgaard, Noah Leddel, Manny Ott, Andre Leipold, Randy Schneider, and Paul Tabinas entering the starting lineup.

The hosts started brightly and nearly opened the scoring after striking the crossbar, but Myanmar settled into the match and showed composure in possession. The visitors even thought they had taken the lead at one point, only for their goal to be ruled out for offside.

As the game grew increasingly physical and chances remained limited, Jeff Tabinas’ first half stoppage-time opener proved to be a crucial turning point.

After halftime, the Philippines shifted into another gear. Paul Tabinas’ goal gave the hosts breathing room before Sebastian Rasmussen added a third in the 80th minute with a perfectly timed run. Myanmar responded shortly after to make it 3-1, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished.

Andre Leipold continued his impressive form by scoring his third goal of the Tri-Nation Friendlies, while Rasmussen added another late tally from a well-delivered cross to complete the 5-1 rout.

The brothers found the breakthrough that kickstarted the Philippines’ scoring party. The goals not only put the Philippines firmly in control but also created a memorable moment for the family, with both brothers finding the scoresheet in the same match.

Jeff reflected proudly on the occasion after the game.

“As a big brother, today is Paul’s first goal for the Philippines. I’m always proud of him and you know his quality.”
