Our Initial Ranking of the MPL PH Season 17 Teams

By Ramon Domingo - March 23, 2026

Who will represent the Philippines in the biggest esports tournament of the year?

MPL PH Season 17 is promising to be an explosive one with new players and legendary veterans clashing in the world’s strongest MLBB league.

But not all teams are made equal, and some are definitely going to be big threats this season. So what we have below is our team power rankings for MPL PH Season 17. Important to note is that this is not a guess on what the finals standings will be, but rather our interpretation of who are the powerhouses of this season.

Starting at the bottom, and likely to stay at the bottom, are AP.Bren and Omega Esports. The once MDL superteam of AP.Bren is getting more seasoned but unfortunately success will remain elusive. They’re getting better but we don’t think that it’s enough yet to properly challenge the top teams. Meanwhile, Omega’s current roster seems to be in recovery and self-discovery mode. They could surprise us, but it’s hard to imagine them getting far with how they are now.

It gets a bit tricky here but we’re going to have to put TNC Pro Team in sixth place. The team looks solid but it doesn’t feel like there’s any significant improvements in the roster. The players themselves could still have leveled up for MPL PH Season 17 but until the season plays out, we can’t know for sure.

ONIC Philippines will take fifth place and that’s due to a number of factors. Playing with an import is one of them, but the bigger issue is losing two key members of the team. Grant “Kelra” Pillas and coach Anthony “YnoT” Senedrin’s departure is a heavy blow to the Super Family. We believe that they still have the talent to stay competitive, but the season’s long and they could be moving up and down the standings a lot depending on how they adjust.

On that note, we put Twisted Minds in fourth because they have a foundation to build on. The team impressed everyone last season but fell short because of inexperience. Well, now they’ve had plenty of time to review and improve themselves and with coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza at the helm, we’re expecting this team to make it far.

Speaking of expectations, there’s a lot riding on Team Falcons PH. Francis “Ducky” Glindro and Vrendon “Vren” Pesebre coming in to coach the team is a big deal. Even during their disastrous previous season, the Falcons were able to make a clutch comeback. With most of the M5 World Championship crew back together, it’s only natural to expect them to make at least top three in MPL PH Season 17.

That leaves us with our top two and likely representatives for MSC 2026: Aurora Gaming PH and Team Liquid. Although Team Liquid is in a similar boat with ONIC Philippines, we believe their roster movement is less of a shakeup than losing The Gold Standard of the Gold Lane, and one of the Philippines’ most intelligent MLBB coaches.

Aurora and Team Liquid are honestly interchangeable and it’ll be up to them who comes out on top this season.
