Owgwen is Beyond Satisfied with Team Falcons’ Regular Season
The new team captain couldn’t ask for more from his longstanding teammates.
Team Falcons have found their championship-winning form once again and when the team is on a roll, that makes team captain Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s job easier.
“Sobrang saya ako as a captain,” said Owgwen to The GAME. “Nung time na-nominate ako maging team captain, sobrang go with the flow lang ako. Pero ngayon na naka abot kami ng top two, sobrang dali pala – basta may kakampi ka na willing magpatulong!”
In all seriousness, Owgwen is happy and proud of what they’ve achieved in the regular season. The team entered MPL PH Season 17 as a big unknown after their disastrous drop off last year. They made changes but it was unclear how well they’d help once the season started again.
“May teammates kami na umalis and may nadagdag kaming player and coaches. Parang huge adjustment para sa amin ‘yun. Pero ngayon na tapos na yung regular season and nasa top seed kami, tingin ko sobrang worth it yung mga pinagdaanan namin, yung mga ginawa namin nung off season.”

As for his role as the team captain, Owgwen’s familiarity with his teammates really came as an advantage for him. It made organizing them and facilitating their needs much easier. And when it comes to Team Falcons, keeping these maniacs organized has always been their biggest challenge.
“Sobrang comfortable na ako sa kanila,” said Owgwen. “Kaya nung time na nag-step up ako as team captain, konting adjustments lang kailangan. Tapos talagang kinausap ko sila na ‘kung tutulungan niyo ako, tutulungan ko kayo.’”
A Team Falcons who’s united and focused is truly a formidable opponent. With Owgwen helping to keep the boys in check, there’s very little that’ll be able to stop them this playoffs.
