It’s a momentous moment for Bigetron by Vitality as they shock Indonesia by taking the MPL ID Season 17 championship, wrenching it away from ONIC ID. Not only did the Robots deny the Sky Kings their second three-peat, this is also the organization’s first championship since joining the league all the way back in Season 1 in 2017.
Bigetron has always been a top team in Indonesia but always found themselves short in high pressure situations. MPL ID Season 17 was looking to be more of the same as they finished the regular season in fourth. They knocked out EVOS in the play-ins only to be trounced by ONIC 3-1 in the upper bracket semifinals. However, the Robots found their stride in the lower bracket. They swept Team Liquid ID and took down Geek Fam ID to get their rematch with ONIC.
It was already enough that Bigatron made it to the grand finals. It secured them a ticket to Paris, France, for MSC 2026 – an international tournament they haven’t seen since 2021. But Bigetron were running hot, and they were bringing all that momentum to their showdown with the Sky Kings.
Turns out that it was a pretty quick showdown as Bigetron looked absolutely unstoppable in the grand finals. With a 4-1 victory, Bigetron would get their revenge over ONIC and claim the MPL ID Season 17 championship.
Paris Bound
For many in Bigetron, this will be the first time that they’ll be stepping on the international stage. The organization’s first and last international appearance was their MSC 2021 run, so it’ll be interesting to see how the team will handle the Paris air.
They wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of their team captain Marcel “Moreno” Sinulingga. The Mid Laner has been with Bigetron since 2022 and it looks like his years of experience is finally beginning to bear fruit.
Joining him is Filipino Gold Laner Eman “EMANN” Sangco. He’s been grinding with Bigetron ever since leaving RSG Philippines in 2024 and now he’s finally back on the MSC stage since winning it with RSG back in 2022. We’ll see if these two veterans can keep their team focused as they face some of the best MLBB teams in the world in Paris later this year.
