It’s a familiar but different feeling for Coach Ducky now that he’s back with his boys again.
MPL PH Season 17 has been quite a ride for Coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro as he’s finally back on home ground as the head coach of Team Falcons.
Many fans were expecting great things from Coach Ducky and his team as it’s essentially the M5 World Championship lineup. With a second place finish and a trip to Paris for the Esports World Cup secured, it’s been a good season overall for the Falcons.
“It feels the same, I think,” said Coach Ducky to The GAME upon reflecting on being back as head coach. “It’s the same thing, same feeling. But the excitement is a whole lot bigger this season. Medyo lumalaki na ‘yung liga and it’s kind of fun to see that we’re occupying a stadium this big.”
The last time the coach played in a packed stadium was back in the M5 World Championship. It was held in the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, and also where he became the first two-time world champion coach with AP.Bren.

“They’ve matured a lot,” said Coach Ducky. “They’re still growing but what you can immediately notice is that they’re actually maturing. That’s a good sign – seeing them grow day-by-day and it’s fun to see that since I’m with them day-in, day-out.”
No one knows these players better than Coach Ducky and though they fell short of a MPL PH championship, they’re certainly on the right track of achieving one. The champion coach, however, can’t rest just yet as he’s got a packed schedule this year.
“Now I’m just looking forward to the other big tournaments we have in the future. We have [Mid Season Cup], [Esports Nations Cup], and of course the Asian Games as well.”
